What Can You Really Do with a Ph.D. in Mythological Studies? My Journey from Depth Psychology to The Satisfied Woman

When I first enrolled in the Mythological Studies program at Pacifica Graduate Institute, I wasn’t looking for a conventional career path. I had already spent years immersed in yoga, spirituality, and the sacred storytelling of ancient traditions. But I wanted to go deeper—to understand what we believe and why we behave the way we do. Mythology, as it turns out, was the key to that quest.

Pacifica gave me more than a degree—it gave me a new myth to live by. Through the lens of depth psychology and archetypal wisdom, I was able to explore the true natures of femininity and masculinity, reclaim my voice, and reimagine success on feminine terms. The result? My book, The Way of the Satisfied Woman: Reclaiming Feminine Power, along with a global community, podcast, app, and a series of courses—all rooted in one central idea: that women deserve a life defined not by strain and perfectionism, but by satisfaction.

Satisfaction, to me, is the pleasure derived from the fulfillment of our wishes and needs. It’s an embodied, intuitive, feminine way of living—and it stands in stark contrast to the endless striving so many of us have been conditioned into. For decades, I watched as women tried to achieve success by emulating men: hustling, proving, perfecting, and pushing. But what if there’s another way? A more collaborative, cyclical, nourishing path forward?

That question lit the fire for The Satisfied Woman movement. I wanted to offer the feminine complement to the masculine frameworks out there—something like The Way of the Superior Man, but for women, and from the inside out. Mythology gave me the foundation. Pacifica gave me the permission. And the world? Well, I believe the world is ready for a new myth.

In May 2025, I returned to Pacifica to teach The Way of the Satisfied Woman: A Mythological and Depth Psychological Approach to Feminine Empowerment. That work became part of the foundation for The Satisfied MethodTM—the women-specific framework I now use to change women’s lives and train women to guide other women.

And if you’d like to read more about my path—from doctoral student to mythmaker—you can read the full interview here.

My hope is that every woman who hears this message begins to write her own myth—one not defined by the patriarchy, but by power, pleasure, and deep feminine fulfillment. Because yes, the world is on fire. But we are the ones who hold the water.

The scholarship became a method. The method became a professional training.

My doctoral work helped me understand the psychological and mythological structures shaping women’s lives. The Satisfied MethodTM turns that depth into a framework women can use—in their own lives and with the women they are called to guide.
